Why do churches need to have a targeted audience?
Without trying you are sending a message about who you are and what audience you serve. These unintentional signals are either attracting people or turning them away. By being intentional about who you are focused on reaching, you are able to be relevant and attractive to the audience you hope to reach. Although this seems exclusive, it actually makes your church more inclusive by focusing on an audience that you can be truly effective at reaching.
Building a club of like minded people
Jesus said “I am here to seek and to save to lost” when questioned about visiting Nicodemus, a tax collector.
We are fishers of men.
Blackberry vs Apple
Blackberry became irrelevant because they focused on making a better device instead making something that their audience wanted.
They lost touch with their audience, and it cost them everything.
The moral of the story is to focus on your audience, and to make your church as effective as possible at reaching that audience. This focused approach creates clarity for people to know that your church is right for them.
